THE Alcester Branch of The Royal British Legion will be saluting members of The Armed Forces - past, present and future - this Saturday.

As part of Armed Forces Day, a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, the branch will hold an official flag raising and garden party.

Legion secretary Dave Malin said: "Armed Forces Day gives us the opportunity to say a big thank you to those in the military. Recent events highlight just how much they keep us safe, not only abroad but also at home in the UK."

The flag raising ceremony will begin at 1.45pm on the St Nicholas Church green.

At 2.30pm the ceremony will end and the annual legion garden party will begin in the grounds of the Old Rectory, opposite the church.
