RESIDENTS are being invited to join American comedian Rich Hall and his virtuoso musical mates for a mash-up of music, comedy and gratuitous coloration as they return to Redditch's Palace Theatre.

The show, on June 22, is part of a UK tour of Rich’s infamous Hoedown which is promising a floor reeking of liquor and spent dreams.

Rich Hall is the star of the critically-acclaimed BBC 4 documentaries Rich Hall’s Californian Stars, Rich Hall’s You Can Go To Hell, I’m Going To Texas, Rich Hall’s Inventing the Indian, Rich Hall’s Presidential Grudge Match and his most recent, Rich Hall’s Countrier Than You which aired in March.

He also wrote and starred in a four-part series for BBC Radio 4 in November 2016 called Rich Hall’s (US Election) Breakdown.

His follow up to this series, Rich Hall’s (US) Breakdown – 60 Days of Trump aired in March.

An American comedian, writer, and musician, Rich first came to prominence as a sketch comedian in the 1980s.

He wrote and performed for a range of American networks, in series including Saturday Night Live.

After winning a Perrier Comedy Award in 2000, using the character of Tennesseean country musician Otis Lee Crenshaw, Hall became popular in the United Kingdom, regularly appearing on QI and similar panel shows.

Other notable appearances include regular appearances on Very British Problems, Stand Up For The Week, Live At The Apollo, Channel 4’s Comedy Gala Live At The O2, Have I Got News For You, Rich Hall’s Cattle Drive, and Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

He has created and starred in several series for the BBC, including comedies with Mike Wilmot, and documentaries often concerning cinema of the United States.

Hall has also maintained a successful stand-up comedy career, as both Crenshaw and himself with his grouchy, deadpan style helping establish him as a master of absurdist irony and the king of rapid-fire wit.
