RESIDENTS are being asked to spend five minutes to give their views and help Redditch’s biggest park improve and become more sustainable.

Local opinions are a key influence on the way the 900-acre Arrow Valley Country Park, including its 29-acre lake and range of attractions, is managed by Redditch Borough Council.

Now the borough council has launched a new simpler way for those opinions to be heard.

Ray Cooke, parks manager, said: “Feedback from residents and park users is a crucial part of the decision making process in Arrow Valley County Park. So we’ve made a single, simple survey available online and on paper in the park so we can gather everybody’s responses.”

The feedback could also help build a more sustainable future for the park, because demonstrating the real demands of local communities can help efforts to secure external funding.

Mr Cooke added: “Apart from helping us to provide a park that everyone wants, your feedback could help us secure external funding to help the council support the park, from sources like the National Lottery. We’re asking everyone to take five minutes to help us provide the best parks we can.”

The parks survey is at redditchbc.gov.uk/parks and in the visitors centre at Arrow Valley Country Park.
