TWO Redditch hairdressers recently proved they were a cut above the rest in a prestigious competition.

Amy Clayton, self-employed barber of The Groom Room Barbershop at Imogens and friend Vicki Bradbury, self-employed hairdresser that runs her business within the hair salon at Imogens Hair and Beauty, entered a number of national hair competitions in Blackpool.

It was part of the National Hair Federation, where professionals can showcase their talents and passion for the industry.

Amy came first in the 'Photographic' competition for her photoshoot entry, with the help of husband Aaron.

Vicki entered her model for the 'Its a Drag' hair competition.

She created and styled her model with an Irish theme and with help from make up artist Bex Kane, she came a respectable second and received a certificate.

Vicki also got Amy to model in the 'Colour of the Day' competition in which she created galaxy colours of rich, violet, purple, pink, blue and turquoise earning her fourth place.

Amy said: "I am very proud of all our efforts and look forward to future competition work!"
