TO mark the UK’s 10th annual Record Store Day (RSD) indie shop Vintage Trax is celebrating the event in its own way – by not stocking any of the 500 plus new 'exclusive' vinyl which is being especially released.

Instead, the shop, on Birchfield Road in Headless Cross, has compiled its own offering of collectable retro picture discs, shaped discs, coloured vinyl and limited edition issues.

Owner Ros Sidaway said: “Our customers are looking for good quality original albums and 7ins and 12ins singles. So rather than committing a big chunk of our stock budget to the RSD releases, we’re focusing on offering our biggest ever range of retro vinyl.

“We have recently purchased a bulk stock of LPs from a retiring record trader, therefore ensuring fresh pre-loved vinyl on sale every day.”

Record Store Day is this Saturday, April 22.

As well as vinyl for sale there will be a raffle, and free hot and cold drinks.

“We’ll also be fundraising for the John Bonham Memorial (johnbonhammemorialfund.com) – the legendary Led Zeppelin drummer who was born just a few yards from our shop,” added Ros.
