AN advice and information event has been hailed a success, with more than 100 people attending.
Some 22 organisations took part in the recent event, at the Mettis Social Club in Batchley, which aimed to introduce support, voluntary and other services and organisations to those of pensionable age in Redditch.
Organisations taking part in the event included Act on Energy, Age UK, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, The National Trust, Care and Repair Worcestershire, Independent Age, Contact the Elderly, and Helping Hands.
It was organised by staff from MP Karen Lumley's office and was the second of two events.
The first was held earlier this month.
Mrs Lumley, who is currently off sick from Parliamentary duties, did pop into the event.
She said: “As with the first event, visitors were delighted with the information they were able to gather, and exhibitors were happy with so many people to engage with all under one roof.
“I have to say that I was most impressed all round and am now looking forward to another two similar events that we have pencilled in for June and July. In fact I will almost certainly be making these wonderful community events an annual occurrence in the diary.”
