NEARLY 300 people recently jogged and walked their way around Arrow Valley raising more than £8,000 for the Stroke Association at the charity’s Resolution Run.

A sea of purple fundraisers took to the park to complete a 5k, 10k or 15k course, all while helping to conquer stroke.

The event was one of 31 runs held by the Stroke Association across the UK, providing people with the perfect motivation to get fit.

Claire Benfield, community and events fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: “With around 1.2 million people across the UK living with the devastating impact of stroke, it is vital that we have people like our Resolution Runners to raise funds and help us conquer stroke.

“We’re extremely grateful to everyone who took part. As our first Resolution Run in Redditch, we were thrilled with such a fantastic turn out and great atmosphere.

"We’d like to say a big thank you to all our volunteers, with a special mention to Redditch Rotary who provided marshals and gw4x4r.co.uk who provided volunteers. Pure Gym Redditch also did a great job with the warm up for our runners."

She added: “The money raised will fund vital research and support for stroke survivors, as well as help to prevent people from having a stroke.”

The Stroke Association is the UK’s leading stroke charity which campaigns to improve stroke care.
