LONELY hearts in Redditch are being warned to guard against rogue online Casanovas this Valentine's Day.
Redditch police are urging singletons not to be tricked by using their head and not their heart on Tuesday, February 14 and using the following advice:
- Don't give out personal information to people you don't know.
- Don't agree to meet somebody in their house or get in their car - meet in a public place and always tell a friend where you are going.
- Don't fall for sob stories - do not give anyone your bank details.
A spokesman for Greenlands and Lodge Park safer neighbourhood team said: "Don't let your heart rule your head - be sensible.
"These may sound like simple things to follow but unfortunately fraudsters do not care and will tell you anything to hook you in and sadly it works a lot.
"If you have concerns, please trust your gut instinct.
"From all of us here - Happy Valentine’s Day."
