A REDDITCH nursery has won £1,750 worth of outdoor play equipment in a competition organised by publicly owned buying organisation, YPO.

Tinkerbells Day Nursery, in Smallwood, was automatically entered into the competition as a customer of YPO to win a set of Community Playthings Outlast Blocks for their outdoor play area.

The wooden blocks and planks are made specifically for the outdoors and are designed for small hands to encourage imaginative play.

Laura Stanley, manager at Tinkerbells Day Nursery said: "We’re really delighted to have won the play equipment, we’ve never won anything before. We thought it might just be a section of the products from the kit, so to get the full thing was amazing. The children have really enjoyed it. It’s great for all ages including the after school club."

She added as the set has already been used to build sofas and chairs, thrones, castles, shops and even a stage with musical instruments including African drumming.

The set is now a permanent fixture at the nursery and is used whatever the weather.

As the UK’s largest public sector buying organisation, YPO currently supplies thousands of nurseries and pre-schools with everything from stationery and sandpits to furniture and food. Its inspired products can help stimulate educational and entertaining nursery activities.
