REDDITCH'S resilient Polish community will be out in force during January raising funds to help improve healthcare back in their native homeland.

People will be staging The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity over two days at The Railway Inn in Hewell Road.

The extravaganza will take place on January 14 and 15 and feature plenty of traditional Polish music and dance.

They'll also be plenty of other activities taking place including a children's party on the 15th that will include face painting.

Visitors will also get the chance to sample some traditional Polish food from a number of stalls.

One of the organisers, Monika Sedlak, said: "We aim to turn heads and bring the communities together through singing and dancing.

"Our goal is to improve the level of medical care which is offered to the most vulnerable patients in Poland.

"We also aim to introduce innovative medical practices and treatments by means of initiating and running medical programmes, while also promoting first aid and CPR awareness in primary schools all over Poland."
