VOLUNTARY and community groups are being invited to bid for the latest round of grants from Redditch Borough Council.

Bids for projects and initiatives in Redditch next year will be supported by £237,000 of borough council grant funding.

Examples of successful recent bids include for services for vulnerable people experiencing debt and related problems, as well as bids from the Where Next Association, the Redditch Place Council and Two Pennies Money Advice.

Council leader Bill Hartnett said: "We are proud to continue offering these grants as a way of ensuring community groups have a source of local funding that’s accessible and easy to apply for.

"No idea is too big or small, and help is available if you’re unsure of the process. If you are part of a local voluntary or community sector organisations and you have an idea then please get in touch. It could be the start of something great."

The grant scheme opens for bids on Monday, September 26 and closes at 4pm on Friday, November 11.

To find out more, including how to apply and where to get help to make bids, organisations are encouraged to attend a special grants workshop being held in partnership with BARN (Bromsgrove and Redditch Network) on Tuesday, October 11 at Redditch Town Hall starting at 2pm.
