A GROUP of actors from Alcester and Studley are on a mission to honour the hundreds of thousands of brave men who died during World War One.

Several actors have lead roles in the war drama series The Bagley Boys, following men from a village in rural Warwickshire who join a Pals battalion at the start of the war.

Produced by Mike Tildesley, a pilot episode is currently being filmed with the hope of attracting funding from a major network for an entire series.

Mr Tildesley said: "We are very passionate about ensuring that the sacrifices of this brave generation of men and women 100 years ago is never forgotten.

"We have cast several local actors in lead roles in our drama as we think that it is important that programmes such as ours can help to promote local talent. We feel that many historical dramas tend to focus upon the South of England and we are keen to develop a series with a regional focus."
