THE last thing most people would expect to find in a 1930s village hall is a fully fledged high definition digital cinema – yet that’s what you’ll find in Feckenham Village Hall.

The village’s volunteer run FeckenOdeon Cinema Society has officially kicked off its 16th season.

Ian Bellion, chairman of the society, said that people don’t just go to “watch a film” at the FeckenOdeon they have a real “night out at the pictures”.

"The FeckenOdeon cinema is rather special - combining state of the art digital technology with good old fashioned showmanship and hospitality," he said.

Throughout the season (which runs to April 2017) there’ll be a rare big screen showing of a new restoration of To Kill a Mocking Bird, Steven Spielberg thriller Bridge of Spies, revivals of The Graduate and High Noon and, among many others, Meryl Streep in Florence Foster-Jenkins.

FeckenOdeon 2, the society’s smaller cinema starts its own season on October 14 with Bollywood comedy Finding Fanny.

Full details of all the films can be found at feckenodeon.co.uk and in leaflets available from The Palace Theatre and in all shops and pubs in Feckenham.

Tickets can be booked via feckenodeon.co.uk or at The Village Shop or The Rose & Crown in Feckenham.
