RESIDENTS are being urged to secure their garages and sheds following a spate of thefts in the Headless Cross and Oakenshaw area.
From July 3 to 17 at least eight incidents of shed burglaries or attempted burglaries to sheds have occurred.
Officers believe the incidents may be linked and that the perpetrator may also be local to the area.
Officers are reminding residents to lock sheds, fit good quality locks to the door, fit grilles or mesh to the windows, or even invest in an alarm
Anyone who wants to report suspicious behaviour from individuals in the area or unfamiliar vehicles should call 101 or 999 in an emergency.
