CCTV images have been released after armed masked robbers raided a Redditch shop six weeks ago.

Brave shop assistant Harry Singh, who works at Simply Local in Dilywn Close, Matchborough, was threatened with a crowbar and an axe in broad daylight on Monday, May 30.

He was working alone when two men with their faces covered with black scarves, burst in at 9.10am.

Speaking previously to the Advertiser, Mr Singh said: "I was just talking and they came at me.

"They came towards me and jumped on the till. There was a lot of pushing and pulling.

"I just wanted to save some money. I thought I have to do something. I was trying to fight."

The men then made off towards Felton Close with some of the shop's takings.

Since the attack the store has increased security, with staff only working in pairs and keeping self-defence spray onsite.

Detective Constable Nick Gianfagna from West Mercia Police said: "We are hoping that the release of these images may help to trigger someone's memory about events surrounding that morning.

"Thankfully no-one was hurt in the robbery, but it left the shop worker very shaken. We are extremely keen to track down the offenders and urge anyone who may have seen anything to contact police. Any information, no matter how small, could help our investigation."

Anyone with information is urged to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 166s of May 30 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via the website crimestoppers-uk.
