THE deadline for residents to have their say on a planning application to build up to 80 homes on land surrounding Church Road, Webheath, has been extended.

The consultation was due to end in June, but due to problems using the public access system, the deadline has been extended until Friday, July 8.

Residents wishing to comment are being asked to double check the website to see if their comments have been submitted and if not, to resubmit them.

Council planning head Ruth Bamford said: "As with all planning applications the council has to consider any comments received up until a decision is made on the application. However we want to ensure that we understand all of the matters that residents want to bring to the council’s attention before a recommendation is drafted by officers.

"As with every development we will continue to provide as much information as possible as part of this process including, in due course the future date of the Planning Committee meeting when the application will be considered.”

A committee date has yet to be set to consider this application.

Those who wish to view the application documents and comment online can do so through redditchbc.gov.uk.

The planning application number for the potential development is 2016/131/OUT.

For those without internet access, a full paper set of the application documents are available for inspection at Redditch Town Hall during normal opening hours.
