FOUR decades of a publisher's history is being celebrated with a special illustrated book on Studley village.

Brewin Books, in Alcester Road, has launched the book entitled Studley Through Time, which includes 200 plus photographs and spans more than a hundred years of history, to mark its 40th year.

The book will be the first ever pictorial history of the village to be published.
Studley Through Time has been written by Studley resident and Brewin Books director Alistair Brewin.

"It seems fitting that in the company’s fortieth year we have finally published a book on the village we know and love so well," he said.

"Many residents have generously lent photographs and information to create a fascinating snapshot of village life throughout the decades.

"Topics covered include pubs, both past and present, the ever changing face of the Alcester Road, local shops, businesses and organisations together with many other facets of village life.

"Studley’s once dominant needle trade is also fully illustrated."
During 40 years of business, more than 400 titles have been published with a large proportion still in print.

Today the company, still independent and family owned, continues to concentrate on all aspects of Midland life.

Established in 1976, Brewin Books have been publishing books in the Warwickshire village since 1976.

Studley Through Time, priced at £8.95, is available to purchase from Brewin Books’ offices in Studley and from Redditch branches of Waterstones and WH Smith or online at brewinbooks.com and amazon.co.uk.
