THERE promises to be something for everyone at this year's St Leonard’s Snowdrop Weekend.

As well as enjoying the carpet of snowdrops there will be a number of craft groups including Beoley Stitchcraft and Beoley Women’s Institute showing off what they do.

One group, Craft and Chat, formed by St Leonard’s Church three years ago, will also be present during the weekend.

The group consists of senior members of the congregation, as well as 10-year-old Fiona Hackett.

The youngster joined the group in her school holidays and despite not being able to knit, helped the ladies make nativity figures which have been donated to a number of Redditch schools.

Visitors to the the Beoley church will also have the chance to learn about the history of the bells of St Leonard's - and to try their hand at chiming a bell under the supervision of experienced ringers.

A display about bell ringing will be on show inside the church, with information about the church's own eight bells, dating back to the 1600s, and how the skill is practised.

There will also be opportunities to watch the bells being rung during the weekend.

Organiser, John Gardner, said: "Our Snowdrop Weekend is a celebration of many aspects of St. Leonard's activities."

The Snowdrop Weekend is taking place on Saturday, February 13 (10am to 4.30pm) and Sunday, February 14 (1pm to 4pm).
