A HORSE has been injured during an incident in Callow Hill, Redditch.

Police believe offenders forced entry to a large field containing two small horses by removing a padlock from a gate between 5.30pm on Saturday, October 3 and 10am on Sunday, October 4.

During this time the horse suffered a wound to its face.

The owner believes it to have been caused by the horse being struck in the face with an unknown implement.

The injury may be caused by the horse bucking its head under a fence or low branch but the owner has found no evidence in the field that this is the case.

The padlock is still missing.
