NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is on the lookout for a new member to join its governing body to help continue providing the best services possible for the people in the local area.

NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove CCG is a clinically led organisation, meaning that the local doctors make decisions on healthcare services and how money is spent.

The CCG consists of 22 GP member practices that are working together to ensure the local population has high quality healthcare services which are sustainable.

The CCGs Governing Body has a strong clinical membership and focus and includes GPs, a secondary care specialist (hospital doctor) and an executive nurse member, with a commitment of securing high quality services for the local population to provide the best possible health care for the residents of Redditch and Bromsgrove.

To ensure that the strong clinical leadership continues, the CCG is currently looking for an experienced secondary care doctor to sit on its governing body.

This will add a broader view to the Governing Body, from the perspective of a secondary care specialist doctor, on health and care issues to underpin the work of the CCG.

Dr Jonathan Wells, chairman and clinical lead for NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove CCG, said: “It’s important that we continue to have a strong clinical presence within the governing body to make sure that we’re able to offer the residents of Redditch and Bromsgrove the best care possible.

“The new governing body member will play a key role in this by working with the chief nursing officer and GP quality leads on the quality and patient safety agenda for the CCG, including chairing the Quality and Patient Safety Committee.”
