A 38-YEAR-old man who transported waste in Bromsgrove without being a registered carrier has been fined £600 by Redditch magistrates.
Bernie McDonagh, who is from Leybourne Grove in Birmingham, was issued a fixed penalty notice by Bromsgrove District Council, after he was stopped travelling through the area.
Mr Donagh was due to appear before Redditch Magistrates court on Friday, June 26, but failed to attend, and as a result the case proceeded in his absence.
After the evidence was heard, Mr Donagh was found guilty, and fined £600 plus an additional surcharge of £60 and costs of £785.80.
A spokesperson for Bromsgrove District Council, said: “We are pleased to be working together with the police to crack down on unlicensed waste carriers.”
