A REDDITCH woman took to the skies and raised £500 for a charity which offers counselling to people in Worcestershire.

Relate Worcestershire is an independent charity which relies on donations and offers relationship support through counselling and psycho-sexual therapy to people in Worcester,Bromsgrove, Redditch and Broadway.

Nikki Stearman, of Astwood Bank, completed a skydive to raise awareness and vital funds for the charity despite being scared of heights.

Nikki said: “I have been truly grateful for the support of Relate Worcestershire. I wanted to raise money to help others who are encountering relationship problems or have recently come out of one to gain the support needed by this amazing charity.”

Sarah Moore, chief executive officer of Relate Worcestershire, said: “As ‘the relationship people’ Relate is focussed on helping individuals, couples and families through any difficulties in their relationships. We believe good, strong relationships help people to lead healthy, happy and successful lives which contribute to the strengthening of local communities.

“Relate Worcestershire is an independent charity and relies on donations to help those in financial difficulties who would otherwise be unable to access our counselling services. The money Nikki has raised will enable other individuals or families to receive the help they need.

“We are very grateful to her for doing the jump and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who sponsored her. It really will make a difference.”
