A STUDENT from the Redditch branch of the Heart of Worcestershire College placed third in a prestigious hairdressing and barbering competition.
David Appleton, aged 35, took part in the junior men's cut and blow dry competition at the National Hairdressers' Federation’s Blackpool International Hairdressing Championships held on Monday, March 16.
Mr Appleton is currently studying level 3 barbering at the college.
Clare Fanthome, barbering lecturer, said: "The students did not disappoint and worked very hard under intense pressure to produce their creations.
"Their hard work paid off with David Appleton coming third place in the national junior men’s cut and blow dry competition. Congratulations to David."
Competitors were required to produce a modern cut and blow dry and at least 2cm of the hair must be removed from all parts of the head.
Several other students at the college also took part including Thomas Hurley, Ben Round, James Payne and Toni Phipps.
