A RECRUITMENT event is being held at Redditch's Alexandra Hospital next month.

The event, on Saturday, March 7 at the Alex Hospital, will feature a number of stands giving information and advice on opportunities within medicine, surgery, women’s and children’s services, theatres, outpatients and clinical support roles, and there will be advisors available to give free one to one help and support with applying for vacancies.

There will also be a chance to see and hear first-hand what it’s like to work for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, at a half hourly ‘film reel’ played throughout the day.

Registered nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, midwives and current and aspiring healthcare support workers’ are all being invited.

Lisa Miruszenko, deputy chief nurse at the trust, said: “This event is for all registered nurses, midwives, operating department practitioners and current and aspiring healthcare support workers to come and see what fabulous job opportunities are available across our county’s hospitals.

"It builds on the successful recruitment campaigns we have recently held for roles in maternity and theatres, and we are looking forward to welcoming some great potential candidates.

“Whether you are working for another trust and looking for a change; thinking of coming back to the profession; or wondering about embarking on a caring role within nursing, this is the event for you.

“If you are currently working as an advanced nurse practitioner and considering a change then we are also interested in discussing what the trust can offer you."

She added: “For those interested in embarking on a career in nursing, the University of Worcester will also have an information stand.”

As well as information stands and free advice, there will be free parking on the day for those attending the event, and free refreshments.

The event, running from 10am to 3pm, takes place in the Alex’s Education Centre and people are free to drop in at any time.
