THE local branch of the Green Party are staging a public meeting tomorrow for anyone in the Redditch and Bromsgrove area who would like to learn more about the party.

The meeting will be held on Friday, January 30 in Webheath, where the guest speaker will be Chris Williams, a Green Party councillor at Solihull MBC. He is also campaigns co-ordinator for West Midlands Green Party.

There will be a short film screening and a discussion about the forthcoming local & general elections and beyond.

The meeting is also a chance to meet the Greens Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Redditch, Kevin White.

Mr White said "If you'd like to learn more about the Green Party, if you're considering joining, or would like to help us become more active locally, this is an event for you."

"Four years ago the Greens had just one councillor on Solihull Council, now we have 10 and we hope for more in May. What Chris Williams and others have achieved in Solihull is amazing. He's an inspiring speaker, so we hope this meeting could be the beginning of our own growth in Redditch.

"More and more people have had enough of the other main parties. They're learning about Green Party policies, and they like what they hear. There's a massive surge in support for the Greens across the country. Membership more than doubled in 2014, and continues to surge this year.

"The future of politics doesn't look like the past. We aim to create a peaceful revolution in 2015. You can be part of that."

The meeting starts at 7pm at Webheath Village Hall, Heathfield Rd, Webheath, Redditch. All are welcome.
