VETERAN Redditch runner Doug Richards who has raced in many remote parts of the planet, will shortly be releasing an eBook.
It will describe his running adventures and how they have enriched his life and helped him through some tough times.
Titled "Running Hot & Cold" and published by Pitch Publishing, the eBook will be available on Amazon from Christmas Eve and can be pre-ordered now.
Mr Richards' running journey has taken him from the stifling heat of the Sahara and Gobi Deserts to the bitter cold of a Siberian winter and the Greenland ice-cap.
The 66 year old said: "Like so many people, I got to my mid-30s and decided I needed to do something about my declining fitness levels, so I decided to go for a one mile run.
"I would never have believed what that run would lead to - I have had so many amazing adventures and made so many friends around the world."
Mr Richards recently qualified as a leader in running fitness with the Run England project and is hoping the book will not only inspire those who already run, but also others to embark on their own running journey by joining Redditch Council's, free Couch to 5K in the new year.
