A HOLLYWOOD family are celebrating the arrival of an early Christmas present after winning a £200 hamper packed with locally-sourced festive produce.

This year’s Christmas competition by Wythall-based Becketts Farm Shop and Restaurant was organised in an attempt to give something back to customers who have supported the business throughout 2014.

Danielle Elwell's name was plucked out of a toy sack by Father Christmas himself, who is currently wowing children and families at Becketts Farm’s sell-out Magical Christmas Adventure.

The winner said: “This is such a lovely treat for our family this Christmas with the newest arrival to our family, Gracie, I entered the competition whilst in hospital. I’m particularly looking forward to enjoying the chicken pâté, after not being able to have any for nine months.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Holly and the Becketts Farm team for making our Christmas that extra bit special.”

Amongst the goodies within the hamper was a free-range turkey, pigs in blankets, cheeses, cooked meats, seasonal vegetables, goose fat, Christmas pudding and much more.

Holly Beckett, of Becketts Farm, added: "We’re delighted to hand Danielle the Christmas hamper, which I hope will contribute towards an extra special Christmas for her and her family.

"As a way of saying thank you to the thousands of loyal customers from across the region who visit our shop and come along to our events, and with Christmas being a time for looking after each other, it’s great to be able to share this gift with Danielle and her family."

Christmas is the busiest time of the year for the 75 year-old business, with 25 per cent of the firm’s annual turnover achieved during the five-week Christmas shopping period.
