A WOODROW man was given an antisocial behaviour injunction and a seven-day suspended sentence after a "blatant breach" of his interim order.

Anthony Bevan, aged 21, of Sanders Close, appeared at Worcester County Court on Wednesday, December 9, after being served with an interim order made on December 2.

Worcester County Court heard how police took him into custody on the morning of December 9 after finding him in what District Judge Mackenzie described as a "blatant breach" of the interim order.

The judge imposed seven days imprisonment, to be suspended provided that Bevan complies with the existing injunction. If there is a further breach Bevan will be sent to prison for seven days plus whatever sentence is imposed for any further breach.

The order will run until December 2, 2015 and has been issued to protect residents and individuals in the vicinity of Bushley Close, Redditch.

Redditch Councillor Yvonne Smith, whose portfolio covers community safety, said: "We are committed to excellent partnership working and using the legal tools where appropriate to protect our residents and communities."

A police spokesman added: "We will not tolerate breaches of orders and want to reiterate that there are consequences of doing so."
