THOSE who want to learn more about Redditch's fascinating past are to be given two great opportunities during exhibitions which are taking place in Redditch and Worcester.

The first will take place at Forge Mill Needle Museum in Redditch and will run from Wednesday, October 22 until Sunday, November 23, and the subject will be Medieval England.

It will be the story of England and the Redditch area during the Middle Ages.

The Medieval period began with the Viking invasions and ended with the Wars of the Roses. During this thousand year period to 1550, England was created and it both won and lost much of France.

In the exhibition, produced by the Friends of Forge Mill Needle Museum, visitors can follow the story of England using a timeline and look at the changes that occurred in this region during this period. These changes include the Normal Conquest and theBlack Death.

The exhibition takes place in the exhibition gallery of the museum during normal opening times. Museum entry prices apply. For more details see forgemill.co.uk.

For the second exhibition, Redditch Local History Society will be reprising its Redditch History - 1964 to 2014 exhibition at the HIVE in Worcester.
