TO celebrate moving to bigger and better premises Death or Glory Records is hosting a special opening event, complete with live music.

The new store is located next to Cafe Mambo on Church Green, opposite the bandstand, and residents are being invited to pop in this Friday, July 18 for an exclusive opportunity to see the new store, talk about music, and enjoy live sets from up-and-coming acts The Hungry Ghosts, and Byron Hare, the first band signed to the Death or Glory Records roster.

The store, which is owned by Steve Hadley, recently announced that as well as providing a platform for emerging local bands and artists it would be running an independent record label.

Mr Hadley said: "We give our artists freedom and full autonomy over their own creative process.

"Death or Glory Records works with a whole zoo of different genres and brings together artists that are hemispheres apart to widen their audiences and to make great music.

"What else should a record label be about really? Here at Death or Glory we strive to make records that our artists can be proud of rather than just being out to make a quick profit."

He added: "If you are in a band please feel free to bring any CDs down for us to have a listen to on Friday."
