A REDDITCH choir is looking forward to a very patriotic affair next week.

Arrow Vale Singers will be performing a "Best of British" summer concert at St Stephen's Church in Redditch.

The choir will perform a selection of traditional and modern classics from styles including musical theatre, film, opera and even nursery rhymes under the theme, and will be joined for several numbers by their guests the Blackwell Concert Band, which will also perform several individual pieces.

A choir spokesman said: "We are really looking forward to sharing the stage with Blackwell Band, and anticipate a flag-waving afternoon of Britishness.

"We invite our audience to wear red, white and blue - as we will be too."

The concert is on Sunday, July 13 starting at 4.30pm, which the choir assures will give football-following audience members plenty of time to get home afterwards for a certain cup final.

Tickets are available from 01527 893525 or arrowvalesingers.co.uk or on the door at £10 each.

A percentage of the event's proceeds will go towards the choir's charity of the year, the Midlands Air Ambulance, and the band's charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

Refreshments and a raffle will be available.
