CLASS A Drugs were seized after Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted two misuse of drugs warrants at addresses in Melen Street and Meadowhill Crescent in the town centre and Riverside yesterday, Wednesday, July 2.

During this, a quantity of cannabis and what is believed to be Class A drugs has been seized.

A 25-year-old man from Redditch is due to be interviewed under caution for possession with intent to supply cannabis and Class A drugs on Saturday, July 5.

PC Field of the Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “The two warrants conducted today show that police take all reports of drug taking and dealing very seriously.

"This follows a number of other positive warrants this month. Drug crime blights the community with increased anti-social behaviour, increased acquisitive crime and on occasions leads to violence on our streets.

"We are keen to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs into Redditch. The minority who supply or take drugs will face robust operations like the one demonstrated today.”

Police are asking the public to help them tackle drug issues by calling 101 or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their website crimestoppers-uk.org
