A NUMBER of schools in Redditch and Studley now have life-saving defibrillators thanks to the generosity of others.

Cardiac charity Redditch Heart Safe said it was was "overwhelmed and very thankful" for a kind donation which has helped purchase two defibrillators for Studley high and Vaynor first schools.

The charity has also thanked county councillor Stuart Cross for his continued support and understanding, and for using his divisional funds to buy three defibrillators for schools in the community he serves - Ridgeway middle, Crabbs Cross academy and Astwood Bank first schools.

A spokesman added that they would also like to thank former county councillor Martin Jenkins, whose generous donation helped towards the donation of a defibrillator to Matchborough First School.

A spokesman said: "We would like to thank everyone for their continued support as without everyone's donations none of this would be possible. We are fighting for every beat as every young heart matters."
