POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman’s handbag was snatched while she was walking in Redditch.

The 26-year-old victim was in Pedmore Close on the Woodrow Estate between 5.30am and 5.45am Friday, June 6.

A man ran up behind her and grabbed her cream coloured, leather effect handbag from her shoulder before making off.

It had a branch and owl pattern on it and contained a small amount of cash and some food and drink.

The offender is white, thought to be aged between 25 and 30, around 6ft tall, and is slim with light brown hair which is shaved at the back and sides.

He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the legs and white trainers.

PC Andy Cadwallader said: “Fortunately the victim was not hurt although she was shocked.

“A man carrying a beige handbag in that area would have been noticed so if anyone saw him or recognises him from the description then we’d like to hear from them."

Anyone with information can call 101, quoting the incident reference 184-S-060614 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
