BEOLEY'S annual summer afternoon fete in the church grounds of St. Leonard’s  on Saturday, June 28 will feature music, dancing, fun activities and a host of stalls, including a local farmer’s market .

Newly arrived vicar, The Rev Paul Irving, will be opening the fete at 1.30pm, which will feature tried and tested favourites which have proved so popular over the years, with a performance by Alcester Victoria Silver Band, country dancing by pupils from Beoley First School, and entertainment from Puppet Vision and Rainbows.

Visitors will be able to try their skill at the white elephant stall, pluck-a-duck, mini-golf, prize-a-time, magic balls, and tombola stalls, as well as buy plants, books, and home produce. Children will be spoilt for choice with the activities on offer including  a bouncy castle, face painting and a good old-fashioned coconut shy to use up their energy.

Refreshments will be available all afternoon with teas, coffees and cakes, and hot and cold choices from a barbecue or ice-cream stall.  To top it all a grand raffle will be held for some exciting prizes including a chauffeured limousine and meal for two at the 'Chateau Impney, and cash prizes of  £250, £100 and £50

A free shuttle bus will operate from Church Hill shopping centre and Beoley Village Hall, throughout the afternoon.  Parking and facilities for disabled visitors are available at the church.  Entry costs just 50p a head and is free for children.
