RESIDENTS are being invited to the latest show by the Wythall Theatre Company.
The side-splitting It Runs In The Family sees Dr David Mortimore about to address a neurologists' convention, which will probably earn him a knighthood.
However, while putting the final touches to his speech an old flame, Jane Tate, arrives and announces that their liaison years ago resulted in a daughter, Lesley, who is downstairs desperate to meet her father.
Frantic to hide this catastrophic news from his wife and the hospital authorities, David is forced to invent not one but two non-existent husbands for Jane and enlist the help of his colleague Dr. Hubert Bonney.
Events are further complicated by the presence of a police sergeant, a wandering senile patient, and an assortment of matrons (real and otherwise), a syringe full of tranquillizer and costumes for the hospital pantomime.
The farce, written in the true Ray Cooney tradition, is promising a laugh a minute.
It runs at Studley Village Hall Theatre from May 20 to May 21 and May 23 to May 24 starting at 7.30pm.
