REDDITCH mayor Wanda King has officially opened David Wilson Homes Mercia’s Enfield Gardens development on the site of the former Ispley First School.

The event was attended by VIPs, David Wilson Homes staff and future residents. The mayor was present to unveil a plaque and plant a tree in the grounds of the development before touring the show home and getting a sense of what the housebuilder was trying to achieve in the area.

After opening the development and seeing the new show homes, Mrs King said: “It’s fantastic that a housebuilder with David Wilson Homes’ reputation wants to build its homes in Redditch.

"I am sure this is going to be a fantastic development and a real asset to the area.”

John Fitzgerald, managing director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We are extremely grateful that Councillor King was able to attend this important event. It is fantastic to have the support of the local mayor and she was pleased to be able to plant a tree at the development.

“We also invited two customers who have bought properties at the development which was a great opportunity for them to meet their neighbours over some nice food.”

Enfield Gardens will provide a range of two, three and four bedroom houses.
