A MONTHLY vintage craft fair held in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre is going from strength to strength.

The craft fair, aiming to promote and support local businesses and individuals by offering stalls for them to showcase and sell their wares, has more than quadrupled in size since its launch in July 2013.

It launched with eight stalls and by February this year the total number of stalls had grown to 35, with most stallholders returning regularly.

Katie Broome, Kingfisher's marketing manager, said: “The response to the vintage craft fair by everyone has been fantastic. For the stallholders it means an opportunity to put themselves in front of a constant flow of shoppers who may not otherwise have heard of them.

“As it’s grown and more people have heard about it, we’ve seen an increase of footfall on the day it takes place, which has been great for our business and for our tenants, who are seeing an increase in the number of people walking through their doors.”

The Vintage Craft Fair takes place on the second Saturday of each month.
