WITNESSES are being sought after a man broke his ankle in several places during an alleged assault in Redditch.

The 34-year-old man claims he was assaulted after being ejected from the Royal Enfield on Unicorn Hill at about 12.15am on Sunday, March 9.

Detective Constable Sarah Richardson of West Mercia Police said: “The man has been treated in the town’s AlexandraHospital and although he has now been discharged, he may require further surgery.

“It is important we establish how he came by his injuries, and whether he was assaulted.

“The smoking area at the Royal Enfield was busy at the time and we believe someone will have seen what happened.”

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact DC Richardson on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 484-s-090314 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted via their website at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
