PUPILS from Matchborough First School recently took a look toward the future, with the help of graduates and undergraduates from the University of Worcester.

Year 1 children helped build universities of the future, including rockets, science labs and of course lots of futuristic equipment, as part of the launch of The Children’s University, a trust which offers seven to 14-year-olds exciting and innovative learning activities and experiences outside of normal school hours.

The youngsters will receive a ‘passport to learning’ and for every hour they engage in learning activities outside of the school day, such as extra-curricular clubs, visiting museums etc, these hours will be recorded and be validated by The Children’s University - the aim is to foster a love of learning.

A Matchborough school spokesman said everyone involved enjoyed the activity.

“The aim is to raise our children’s aspirations and reach for the stars,” she said.
