POLICE have today, Thursday, March 6, arrested a man on suspicion of stealing Asian gold jewellery during a robbery carried out at a Redditch store last weekend.

Gold jewellery worth more than £2,000 was stolen during the robbery at Cash Converters on Unicorn Hill on Saturday afternoon, March 1.

Detectives from North Worcestershire CID who are working on the investigation went to an address in the Batchley area of the town and arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the robbery.

He was taken to Kidderminster Police Station where he remains in custody helping officers with their inquiries.
