THE uplifting musical I Dreamed A Dream will be returning for its third year at the Redditch Palace Theatre.

The fundraising show, was created by local singers Brett Elesmore and Sophie Grogan, has to date helped raise more than £8,000 for children’s charity MACS (The Micro and Anophthalmic Children's Society) which provides support for children who are born without eyes or underdeveloped eyes and their families.

The concert features songs from top selling musicals from the West End and Broadway and beyond sung by a cast of local and professional singers.

It was conceived after Brett and Sophie made the decision to run the Virgin London Marathon in 2012 and wanted to boost their fundraising.

After the success of their first show, and marathon, the pair decided to do it all over again and since then the production has grown bigger and better.

Now I Dreamed A Dream is into its third year and it is set to be the best one yet.

“We couldn’t do this amazing one night show if it wasn’t for the help and support of the committed and accomplished local cast," said Brett.

"We even have seasoned professionals travel up from London to perform alongside us, the wealth of ability makes it a one-night-only show not to be missed."

Sophie added: “MACS are a relatively unknown charity and events like The Virgin London Marathon really help boost awareness as well as much needed funds for them. We want to raise as much money as possible for our charity, having met the MACS children on a few occasions, we know the great work that it does for these inspirational children.”

The musical takes place on Saturday, March 8 at 7:30pm.

Tickets can be purchased from the Palace Theatre box office on 01527 65203 or redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk.
