ONE of the UK's leading consultant plastic surgeons has visited a Redditch firm at the forefront of producing specialty surgical products.
Lt Col Steven Jeffery serves as a regular officer in the Royal Army Medical Corps.
Professor Jeffrey is also a consultant burns and plastic surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where his clinical practice treats burns and trauma victims, both military and civilian.
Along with a team of military nurses he recently visited Aspen Medical Europe Limited, which manufacturer and sell wound care dressings as well as other world leading products, to watch a series of product demonstrations and have a full factory tour.
Based in North Moon’s Moat, Aspen Medical has been producing innovative woundcare products for more than 25 years and its local origins can be dated back to the needle making days of Henry Millward & Sons in 1730 and William Hall & Co in 1842.
Products include surgical needles, skin markers, disposable light handles, instrument guards, anti-fog solutions, fluid management products and surgical blades and scalpels.
