THE Palace Theatre has announced that local legend and comedian, actor and television presenter Jasper Carrott, is returning to the stage later this year as part of the venue's autumn/winter season.

Mic in hand the comedian, best known for presenting British daytime game Golden Balls or sitcom The Detectives, will be regaling audiences with his new stand-up routines before introducing his musical compatriots and best friends.

His comrades consist of; Bev Bevan, Jasper's mate who has rock star credentials most only dream of, Trevor Burton of The Move, the first band ever played on Radio 1, Geoff Turton lead singer of the Rockin Berries, Joy Strachan-Brain the lead singer of one of the UK's finest Celtic rock bands Quill, and Birmingham's first ever popstar Danny King.

A spokesman from the theatre, said: "Jasper is coming to show you that he’s back to his very best. Do not miss this unique show that gives you the opportunity to see and hear great legendary artists belt out a night of fantastic songs.

"This is Jasper back where he belongs... making us laugh."

He will be at the Palace from Thursday to Saturday, October 23 to 25 from 7.30pm.

Ticket demand for the run of shows is expected to be high so anyone interested is being urged to make sure they purchase seats early.
