A NEW service in Redditch is launching to local communities this week by means of a family roadshow.

The Early Help Service, which has incorporated Redditch Children’s Centres, is out and about all this week and families in Redditch with children and young people aged 0-19 years are invited to go along.

There will be fun activities, displays, flyers and information available, freebies and refreshments too.

The roadshow will be at Monday 17th – Space, Shopping Centre, Winyates Shopping Centre on Monday, February 17, at Willow Trees Community Centre, in Church Hill, on Tuesday, February 18, at the HDA Club in Batchley on Wednesday, February 19, at Woodrow Library on Thursday, February 20, and Redditch Town Hall on Friday, February 21, from 10am until 4pm each day.

For some families difficulties arise which, if nipped in the bud early enough, can be prevented from escalating to specialist services. Worcestershire County Council’s early help programme is trying to make sure that support is available to families when they first need it and have commissioned Redditch Council to deliver early help services to families with children and young people aged 0-19 years in the area.

Louise Hall, community development co-ordinator said “We are here to help and support families as their children go through every stage of growing up; from the time a baby is born to a child becoming a young adult.

"We also know that from time to time families will experience ups and downs, and we’ll be here to offer expert help when the need arises, and also have some fun along the way.”

Councillor Liz Eyre, county council cabinet member for children and families, said: "It is often difficult for families to know where to find help when they need it and these roadshows are a great way for families to find out what support is available in their area."
