BUDDING athletes from across Redditch are being invited to trial and test a brand new club at the Abbey Stadium.

‘Reddi to Tri’ sessions are designed to let residents try out the three sports undertaken in a triathlon. Experienced athletes and newbies alike can take part in swimming, studio cycling and running without the pressure of a timed race. Specialist coaches for each will be at every session.

Residents who can’t attend the sessions can still register their interest in the new club. If enough interest is raised around the sessions then there is the potential for an ongoing club.

Councillor Phil Mould, whose portfolio covers leisure, said: “The ‘Reddi to Tri’ sessions are for anyone to have a go at; it really doesn’t matter how athletic you are currently. If you want to improve your fitness or take on a new challenge then register your interest today.”

The trial sessions will be taking place every Sunday at 3pm from February 23 until March 30. Sessions cost  £5 which covers all three activities.

Residents can either text their name to 07974 748254 to book a place or call Hayley Gwilliam on 01527 881404 to register their interest in a triathlon club.
