A SPECIALIST Redditch youth theatre group is calling for new members to take part in an upcoming performance.

Aim, the Palace Youth Theatre Redditch’s branch for young performers aged 16 to 25 with learning disabilities, is now recruiting ahead of a performance coming to the theatre at the end of March called Odyssey2.

Aim sessions run on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm at the Palace Theatre on Alcester Street, led by specialist practitioner Kevin Hunton.

The group creates unique interactive, unexpected, highly physical performances which aim to stun audiences in the Palace Theatre’s Room Upstairs.

Redditch Council youth theatre and arts officer Liz Sifford said: “With a new Aim performance at the Room Upstairs set for the spring, we’re putting out the call now for anyone that might want to come and take part.

"Aim has a really unique approach to their performances, it’s really something that has to be experienced as it’s hard to do it justice in words.”

The performance of Odyssey2 is scheduled for Saturday March 29.

Anyone interested in knowing more about Aim can visit an enrolment evening at the Palace Theatre on January 6.

Staff and theatre members will be available from 6pm to 7pm that evening for tea, coffee and even have-a-go sessions of some activities.

Aim High sessions are free.
