A REDDITCH boy and his dance partner have become World Latin Champions at Disneyland Paris.
Daniel Wright, aged 11, who lives in Redditch and goes to St Benedict's Catholic School in Alcester, and his partner Ella Perry, fought against stiff competition from across the globe to scoop the prestigious title.
Daniel's mum, Helen Wright, received the news on the phone from the youngtsers' dance teacher Kay Perry, from the New Cottage Dance Centre in Ystrad Minach, South Wales and says the teacher was in tears at the success of the children.
Daniel and Ella have represented Great Britain for more than two years now in various world open and international championships.
In a Skype message to his mum, Daniel said: "It wasn't that easy, but we overtook so many Ukranians and Russians, who are such strong dancers. We are so happy now."
Last month, Daniel and Ella were chosen to appear on an episode of Strictly Come Dancing, from Blackpool's Tower Ballroom.
