A PAIR of young entrepreneurs are hoping their new business venture in Redditch will turn out to be a cut above the rest.

Hair stylists Lauren Alekna and Stacey Tudor have teamed up to buy Legends Hair and Beauty salon in the town from the previous owners, who had built up the business over 25 years.

The ambitious duo have invested £100,000 into the venture but believe that figure could be a snip as they look to unveil grand plans for developing the business in the years ahead.

Ms Alekna 28, and 26-year-old Ms Tudor employ 27 staff at the Evesham Road-based salon which also includes five new apprentices they have taken under their wing to train and develop.

Both having previous experience of working in the industry they decided the next logical step was to purchase their own salon.

Ms Alekna said: “Taking over the business and committing to such a large investment has been a big step for both Stacey and I, but we are really excited about the opportunity to run our own business and introduce new ideas.

“Over the years working for Legends Hair and Beauty, we have both built up a loyal base of regular customers and I am delighted they have continued to support us.

“All the feedback we have had so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Customers, suppliers and other local businesses have been wishing us well for what promises to be an exciting new era here at the salon.”

The Redditch-born pair intend to look at further opportunities to open more salons across the region as well as set up a hair and beauty training academy.

Ms Tudor added: “We have some big ideas for the future of the salon. We will be gradually growing the number of services available but also looking to increase our in-house training programme.

“Our internal training programme for staff has always been popular but we are looking to take it to a different level by introducing new methods and showcasing the latest hair and beauty techniques. We hope that will help deliver the next generation of stylists."
