STAFF at a Redditch employment and training specialist have been recognised for their generosity at a prestigious awards ceremony.

Albert Street based Pertemps People Development Group was invited to participate in the National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards, and took the title for the Best Sustained SME campaign beating hundreds of other UK companies.

Chief executive Steve king said the accolade was a true reflection of the company’s drive to support others less fortunate.

He said: “Payroll giving is a key element of our wider scheme that brings us closer to charities and voluntary organisations.

“Two thirds of our employees are involved in giving, a phenomenal percentage for a business of our size, and I’m immensely proud of each and every one of the scheme’s stakeholders.”

The award was made by the Minister for Civil Society Nick Hurd MP, citing payroll giving as an effective tax-efficient means of supporting charities and worthy causes.

On behalf of the company Phil Pemble picked up the award, as well as a Platinum Quality Mark Award.

He said: “Next year we will surpass the remarkable milestone of giving and donating £250,000 to almost 700 different worthy causes through payroll giving alone.”
